Rural mobile coverage
Mova manages and runs the The Shared Rural Network (SRN) programme. The SRN is transforming rural mobile coverage; boosting wellbeing, productivity and investment in rural areas and offers a sustainable approach to the challenge of delivering rural mobile coverage.

We provide programme and public funds management, reporting and tracking information to the four UK mobile operators, the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology and Ofcom. We lead on all external communications and stakeholder engagement, working closely with the MNOs and their trade body, Mobile UK.
At the 2025 Connected Britain Awards, Mova, representing EE, Three, Virgin Media O2, and Vodafone, won The Barrier Removal Award for the groundbreaking work on the Shared Rural Network programme. The award celebrates initiatives that have overcome the toughest challenges in connectivity rollout. The SRN was recognised for its unique industry-wide collaboration, which successfully dismantles long-standing commercial barriers and significantly improves rural mobile coverage. This recognition highlights the operators’ and the Government’s commitment to bridging the digital divide and delivering connectivity that reaches everyone.
